Gunnar has more than 20 years of experience in the development of wireless modems, in particular for WLAN and LTE. His scope includes standardization (IEEE 802.11, 3GPP RAN), architecture definition, firmware implementation, up to system test and debug. Originally coming from digital signal processing, he has also worked on protocol stacks, baseband algorithms, as well as RF issues. He had a leading role in the LTE modem development starting at Blue Wonder Communications. Before joining Systemonic in 2000, Gunnar led a team at Robert Bosch GmbH which developed RF and baseband ICs for Digital Audio Broadcast (DAB).
In 1986, Gunnar got his Masters and in 1993 PhD in Electrical Engineering, both from Ruhr University Bochum. He has published a book as well as several scientific papers and holds more than 25 patents.
